News Release: April New Vehicle Registrations

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cleveland, OH – A total of 18,890 new cars, trucks and SUVs were sold by Northern Ohio dealers in April of 2024. That amounts to an increase of 8.34 percent over the same month last year, according to figures released today by the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association (GCADA). Year to date, sales by franchised new motor vehicle dealers were up by 6.16 percent compared to the same timeframe a year prior.

“Consumers continued a healthy sales pace in April, even though interest rates remain high,” says Louis A. Vitantonio, president of the GCADA. “Adjustments to both new and used vehicle prices will fluctuate going forward, with the introduction of more incentives and as inventories continue to grow. We expect this current sales trend to carry on through the end of the year.”

Chevrolet remained the region’s best-selling brand in April, with 2,600 new vehicle sales. Ford again came in second, with 2,404 new vehicles sold in the month. Honda remained in third at 1,810 recorded sales, while Kia overtook Toyota, with 1,502 and 1,284 sales respectively.
