Cleveland Auto Show Announces New
“Car-A-Day Vehicle Giveaway” Contest

Cleveland, OH (January 14, 2014) — For the first time in its history, the Cleveland Auto Show and the Northern Ohio Buick GMC dealers will giveaway the use of a brand new 2014 vehicle every day the Show is open. The Cleveland Auto Show opens its doors at the I-X Center on Saturday March 1 and runs through Sunday, March 9 at the I-X Center in Cleveland.

At a drawing held at the end of each day of the Show, one lucky winner will be selected to receive a free, two-year lease of their choice of either a 2014 Buick Verano or a 2014 GMC Terrain.

“The Car-A-Day Vehicle Giveaway is a first for the Cleveland Auto Show,” says Louis A. Vitantonio, president of the Cleveland Auto Show. “We have never given away more than two vehicles, let alone nine for a single show.”

“These are two of the finest and best-selling vehicles in the Buick/GMC lineup,” adds Ed Babcock, chairman of the Cleveland Auto Show and owner of the Junction Auto Family dealerships in Chardon. “The daily winner will have the choice of either a beautiful sedan that combines spirited performance with Buick’s luxury appointments in the 2014 Verano, or the 2014 GMC Terrain, a compact crossover that combines utility, sporty styling and handling with GMC’s legendary professional grade construction.”

“By offering a choice of either a sedan or a crossover, we are making it that much more exciting,” says Robert Coffey, zone manager for Buick GMC. “It also allows daily winners to choose a vehicle that better suits their individual transportation needs.”

The generously-equipped Buick Verano 1SD is distinguished by thoughtful design, meticulous attention to detail and sculpted Buick design cues. The sedan also features advanced interior acoustics, including Buick’s trademarked QuietTuning, which delivers a premium quiet ride. Verano also delivers an exceptional level of equipment, including a standard rearview camera and soft touch interior surfaces.

For its part, the 2014 GMC Terrain SLE1 offers standard 17-inch aluminum wheels and a bold exterior design that sets it apart from the competition. Under the hood, a standard 2.5-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine with direct injection and camshaft phasing, delivers an EPA-estimated 32 miles-per-gallon on the highway.

In addition to announcing the new Car-A-Day Vehicle Giveaway Contest, the Cleveland Auto Show also announced that the 2014 Buick LaCrosse and the 2015 GMC Yukon have been named the Car and Truck of the 2014 Cleveland Auto Show.

“The LaCrosse is our flagship sedan, while the Yukon has been totally reengineered from top to bottom for 2015, so they are both very exciting vehicles,” says Coffey.

The 2014 Buick LaCrosse features a refreshed exterior with wing-shaped LED lighting. Featuring new interior and exterior design cues, it also offers advanced safety technologies and enhanced in-vehicle connectivity. New radar- and camera-based safety features also help surround the new LaCrosse with added protection on the road.

The all-new 2015 Yukon, Yukon XL and flagship Yukon Denali models will deliver greater capability and refinement, with more power, new fold-flat rear seats and a quieter interior. And thanks to a new family of advanced EcoTec3 engines, the lineup is expected to deliver the segment’s best V8 fuel economy.

As one of the largest auto shows in the nation, the Cleveland Auto Show always features the very best vehicles, concepts and displays from vehicle manufacturers across the globe. The Cleveland Auto Show is also the one place you can see all of what manufacturers are offering in their 2014/2015 model year lineups, all under one roof.
