Six Area Dealers Are Among
Automotive News’ “Best Dealerships to Work For”
Cleveland, OH (August 5, 2015) – Six dealerships from Northeastern Ohio were named to the 2015 Automotive News “Best Dealerships To Work For” list, a nationwide award program that is designed to recognize achievements in creating outstanding work environments. While designed for single dealerships/rooftops, the program does include stores that are a part of larger dealership groups.
Dealers from Northeastern Ohio on the list of 100 dealers include: Audi Bedford, Audi Mentor, Honda of Mentor and Porsche of Beachwood from the Penske Automotive Group, and Motorcars Honda and Motorcars Toyota in Cleveland Heights.
“To have this many dealerships from our area represented on this list is indicative of the very high level of employee satisfaction that can be found at many dealerships in our area,” says Louis A. Vitantonio, president of the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association (GCADA). “While our congratulations go out to this very select group of dealers, all of our local dealers work very hard to provide excellent work environments; from the facilities people work in to the culture within an organization.”
Later this year, all dealers making Automotive News’ list will be honored at a celebration on Wednesday, October 14 at the Four Seasons in Chicago. The all-day event will include an afternoon conference program with experts in employee and customer satisfaction. The evening will culminate in a dinner and awards celebration.
To be eligible for the award, dealerships must sell new cars, be in business for more than a year and have at least 25 employees working in the U.S. and/or Canada. Each dealer takes part in a two-step assessment process designed to gather detailed data about the dealership. First, the employer completes a questionnaire while secondly employees of the dealerships complete a survey. The Employer Questionnaire garners information about dealership practices, policies and demographics; the Employee Engagement and Satisfaction Survey consists of 78 questions that employees respond to on a five-point agreement scale as well as two open-ended questions and seven demographic questions.
“Programs like the ‘Automotive News Best Dealerships to Work For’ list also allow dealerships to benchmark best employment practices,” adds Vitantonio, “and that is key to attracting and retaining the best talent.”
