FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Cleveland, OH – Northern Ohio franchised new motor vehicle dealers reported a total of 20,588 sales last month, according to figures released today by the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association (GCADA). Compared to October of last year, this amounts to an 8.71 percent increase, placing 2024 year to date sales in the region at a 3.49 percent gain over the prior year.
“October new vehicle sales surged with over an eight percent swing versus 2023,” says Louis A. Vitantonio, president of the GCADA. “This boost was certainly assisted by decreased interest rates and an increase in incentives to clear current inventory. We anticipate consistent sales numbers for the remainder of 2024.
“Used vehicles did not fare as well given that there is less available inventory than in the past, and pricing remains high.”
The registration of 17,329 used vehicles in October of 2024 represents a decrease of 3.44 percent compared to the same month a year prior, and down 0.26 percent year to date versus 2023.
Chevrolet maintains its hold on the region, selling 2,927 new vehicles in October. Ford remains in second with 2,338 sales in the month, followed by Honda with 1,877 for third place. Kia moved back into fourth with 1,673 sales, and Toyota snagged fifth with 1,562.
