Cleveland, OH – According to figures released today by the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association (GCADA), Northern Ohio franchised dealers sold 19,005 new motor vehicles in July, an increase of 8.23 percent compared to the same month last year. Year to date sales numbers continue to outpace last year as well, by 8.28 percent.

“Northern Ohio sales remain strong through July, even as we begin to see vehicles arriving on dealer lots with tariffs built into the pricing on some vehicles,” says Louis A. Vitantonio, president of the GCADA. “We anticipate a similar level of sales improvement over 2024 to extend through end of 2025.”

Chevrolet continues to dominate in the region, selling 3,055 new vehicles in July. Ford’s sales of 2,602 in the month keep the brand in second place. Kia holds on to third for a second month, recording 1,855 new vehicle registrations. Honda and Toyota follow, with 1,781 and 1,693 sales, respectively.

Retail sales figures are based on vehicle registration reports from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Vehicle sales data includes all dealers in these 21 counties: Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Holmes, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas and Wayne.
