New Car and Light Truck Sales Up Double Digits in October
Cleveland, OH (November 16, 2011) – The retail automotive industry in Northeast Ohio continued its rebound in October, registering a healthy double-digit sales increase when compared to the same month a year prior. According to statistics released today by the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association (GCADA), sales of new cars and light trucks grew 11.36 percent for the month, when comparing figures against October of 2010. For the year to date, sales of new cars and light trucks are up 19.51 percent, when removing figures for the discontinued Pontiac and Saturn brands.
“The fact that sales continue to grow despite uncertain economic times clearly demonstrates just how much pent up demand there is still in the marketplace,” says Louis A. Vitantonio, Jr. President of the GCADA. “With the Cleveland Auto Show approaching, we’re hopeful that we can build on this momentum through the end of the year and well into 2012.”
The Cleveland Auto Show, one of the largest auto shows in the nation, opens its doors at the I-X Center on Saturday, February 25, 2012 and runs through Sunday, March 4, 2012.
