Spring Selling Season Continues to
Drive Strong Automotive Sales in April
Cleveland, OH (May 9, 2013) – Sales of light cars and trucks surged more than nine percent in April of 2013 when comparing it to the same month a year prior, according to figures released today by the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association (GCADA). Retail automotive dealers from the 21-county region served by the GCADA sold 20,958 vehicles in April of 2013 versus 19,210 in April of 2012, and increase of 9.1 percent.
“Steady gas prices, pent up demand and the spring selling season continue the positive sales trend in Northern Ohio,” says Louis A. Vitantonio, Jr., president of the GCADA. “Not only did new car and truck sales increase over 9 percent, we also had a strong used car sales month increasing 7 percent over last year. This news continues to bode well for our region as the economy strengthens.”
