“Don’t Get Snowed!”
“Don’t Get Snowed!”
It’s Snow Tire Time! This is a good time for members to be selling more tires, with winter right around the corner. With more sales of tires, comes the ever present problem of properly disposing of them before the pile gets to large.
The Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association would like to remind members that U.S. Tire Transportation is the vendor of choice for the pick-up and recycling of all used tires generated by members of the Association. Your used tires should only be picked up by “Registered Used Tire Haulers and/or Recyclers”. U.S. Tire Transportation will ensure that all used tires generated by GCADA members and picked up by U.S. Tire Transportation, are properly recycled, disposed of or used for beneficial use in accordance with all EPA regulations.
Services and Pricing:
- U.S. Tire Transportation will provide collection service for GCADA members at a cost of $1.70 per passenger and light truck tire
- Services from U.S. Tire Transportation may be on an “On Call” or “Regularly Scheduled Route” basis
- Each service call requires the dealership to have 42 tires to pick up, if the dealership would have less than the required 42 tires, there will be a minimum charge of $65 (this is not a service charge, but a minimum charge per trip)
- U.S. Tire Transportation will not charge a fuel and/or environmental surcharge to members of GCADA for any services rendered
Do to the constantly increasing requirements from the EPA, state and federal governments, to receive these services and pricing, members will be asked to sign a simple Route Service Agreement, reviewed by GCADA. It is necessary for U.S Tire Transportation to have these agreements in place before hauling and processing used tires.
As always to insure the proper recycling of tires with any vendor and eliminating any liability from used tires getting resold or installed onto other cars, dealers should destroy the sidewall of scrap tires either by carefully drilling a hole in the sidewall or cutting the sidewall with a knife.
Should you have any questions about this program or would like to set an appointment up with a representative of U.S. Tire Transportation, please contact Dennis Rose at your association at 440-746-1500 or via email at drose@gcada.org.
