License and Title Bureau Information as of 3-18-20
The Ohio BMV Registrar’s Office today reported that while all 181 Deputy Registrar’s Offices have been ordered to close, those offices may opt to remain open for ongoing Dealer or Fleet work. If remaining open, they must continue any dealer/fleet work via pick-up, drop-off or by courier only. GCADA suggests calling your local Registrar’s Office to see if they are going to remain open for dealers.
The 5 Deputy Registrar Offices reported by Governor DeWine to remain open to the public (locations yet to be determined) will be open only for Commercial Drivers Licensing or testing.
At this point it is business as usual for motor vehicle dealers. It is safe to issue 45-day temporary tags for sales and lease transactions.
