FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Cleveland, OH – Northern Ohio’s franchised new motor vehicle dealers sold 19,401 vehicles in June of 2023, according to figures released today by the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association (GCADA). Compared to the same month last year, that marks an increase of 15.72 percent, a new vehicle milestone for the calendar year. 105,220 new cars, trucks and SUVs have been sold year to date, an increase of 5.02 percent over 2022 sales.
“While March always sees the biggest jump in terms of overall sales, June’s figures this year are capitalizing on the end of major inventory woes on dealer lots,” says Louis A. Vitantonio, president of the GCADA. “Intimidating interest rates are losing the battle against pent-up demand and manufacturer finance incentives – a trend that we anticipate will continue through the second half of the year.”
Chevrolet remains Northern Ohio’s best-selling brand, with 2,362 new vehicle sales, ahead of Ford with 2,318 sales in June. For third place, Kia’s 1,720 sales outpaced Honda by just one new vehicle, followed by Toyota with 1,354 sales to round out the top five.
