News Release: November Vehicle Registrations

Cleveland, OH – New vehicle sales continue a steady rise, with an increase of 7.06 percent last month, compared to November of 2022. According to figures released today by the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association (GCADA), dealers in Northeast Ohio sold 16,686 new cars, trucks and SUVs in November 2023. For the year to date, the region’s sales are up by 7.42 percent over last year.

“New vehicle sales continue to recover from a slow 2022. Meanwhile, the used market is cooling as prices fall on pre-owned vehicle inventory,” says Louis A. Vitantonio, president of the GCADA. “We are starting to see more purchase and financing incentives to offset the high interest rates that have pushed monthly payments above normal.”

Used vehicle sales so far in 2023 total 196,398, a decrease of 4.91 percent from last year. For the month of November, sales of used cars, trucks and SUVs were off by 3.45 percent when compared to the same month a year prior.

Chevrolet remained Northeast Ohio’s best-selling brand, with 2,344 new vehicle sales. Ford held onto second place with 1,949 sales in November. Toyota jumped into third with 1,612 sales in the region, followed by Honda with 1,559, and Kia with 1,336 sales.
