FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Cleveland, OH – Northern Ohio dealers sold a total of 15,605 new cars, trucks and SUVs in February, an increase of 10.17 percent over the same month last year. According to figures released today by the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association (GCADA), franchised new motor vehicle dealers have sold 33,972 so far in 2024, an increase of 12.06 percent over the first two months of 2023.
“As dealers closed out February with an extra sales day thanks to leap year, and the opening of the Cleveland Auto Show, sales continue on a very positive pace,” says Louis A. Vitantonio, president of the GCADA. “Rebates and incentives have helped counter high interest rates and provide discounts on many models on dealers’ lots. March will start strong as additional Auto Show incentives are driving traffic.”
The Cleveland Auto Show runs through the weekend, closing Sunday, March 3 at the I-X Center.
Ford has edged into first place as the area’s best-selling brand, selling 2,150 new vehicles in February. Chevrolet came in second with 2,078 new vehicle sales. Honda again came in third with 1,420 new vehicles sold in the month, ahead of Toyota with 1,335 sales. Notably, Stellantis dealers sold 1,593 new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles in February, an increase of 11.29 percent.
