FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Cleveland, OH – Northern Ohio new motor vehicle dealers reported 16,348 sales in the month of June, according to figures released today by the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association (GCADA). This figure represents a decrease of 15.74 percent compared to the same month last year. For the year to date, registered sales are up by 1.62 percent in 2024 when compared to the same timeframe a year prior, with further increases expected throughout the summer.
“The disruption of the dealership DMS (Dealership Management System) for those on the CDK platform definitely had an effect on new and used vehicle sales at the end of June,” says Louis A. Vitantonio, president of the GCADA.
“We expect the systems to be back online in the next few days, which pushes recording of many sales into the month of July. Although the outage has been difficult, our market is still positive through the second quarter of 2024 versus 2023.”
Chevrolet remained the region’s best-selling brand, with 2,272 new vehicles sold in June. Ford held onto second place with 1,849 sales in the month, ahead of Honda’s 1,553 sales. Kia took back the fourth spot in June, with 1,373 sales over Toyota’s 1,189.
