News Release: October New Vehicle Registrations

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cleveland, OH – According to figures released today by the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association (GCADA), franchised dealers sold a total of 20,359 new vehicles in October, off by just 1.11 percent compared to the same month in 2024. Northern Ohio dealers remain ahead when looking at year to date figures, with sales of 195,069 new vehicles, an increase of 5.81 percent through 2025.

“As the fourth quarter opened without the federal EV tax credits, the Northern Ohio market was essentially flat compared to October 2024,” says Louis A. Vitantonio, president of the GCADA. “We expected a larger slide than what transpired last month, and remain confident that new vehicle sales will remain on pace to close out 2025 with 3-5 percent growth over 2024.”

“Used vehicle sales in the region continue to grow slightly, as prices start to come down on available inventory.”

Sales on previously owned vehicles totaled 17,966 in October, when compared to the same month last year marks an increase of 3.68 percent. For the year to date however, 175,064 used vehicles have been sold, a difference of 2.41 percent compared to last year.

Chevrolet continues to top the leaderboard in Northern Ohio, even while noting a slight decline in growth, with 2,897 new vehicle sales. Ford’s slow and steady growth earned 2,434 sales in the region for second place. Toyota held onto third with 1,856 vehicles sold, just ahead of Honda’s 1,842 sales in the month. Kia ranked in fifth place with 1,783 sales in October.
